The Sutra on Corresponding Harmony Spoken by the Buddha, translated by the Western Jin dynasty scripture translator Faju, is one of the early Chinese-translated Buddhist scriptures. This sutra is included in the Taishō Tripiṭaka. Its content elucidates the practice principle of corresponding harmony in the Dharma, emphasizing the alignment between mental activity and the nature of reality, guiding practitioners to attain liberation through contemplation and practice. The text integrates elements of Early Buddhism and Mahāyāna thought, reflecting the transitional characteristics of Buddhist translation during the Western Jin period. As an early meditation scripture, it provided a theoretical foundation for the śamatha-vipaśyanā system in Chinese Buddhism and exerted a profound influence on the doctrinal development of later schools such as the Tiantai and Chan traditions. It is an important document for studying the evolution of Chinese Buddhist thought.

The Buddha said: "Monks, a wise person should carefully examine the causes and conditions. What can be done, do it; what cannot be done, leave it alone."

佛說如是。比丘受行著意。

The Buddha spoke thus. The monks, receiving his words, took them to heart and practiced accordingly.
