> Monk of Jizhou Mountain

示徒頌曰。匡山路。匡山路。巖崖嶮峻人難措。遊人擬議隔千山。一句分明超佛祖。白牛頌曰。我有古壇真白牛。父子藏來經幾秋。出門直往孤峰頂。回來暫跨虎溪頭。

> A verse for his disciples: The road to Mount Kuang— The road to Mount Kuang— Sheer cliffs and rugged paths, hard for anyone to tread. A traveler hesitates, a thousand mountains apart— One phrase, clear and direct, surpasses even Buddhas and Ancestors. A verse on the White Ox: I have an ancient altar, a true white ox— Kept hidden by father and son through many autumns. Leaving the gate, it goes straight to the solitary peak's summit; On returning, it briefly crosses, by Tiger Brook's edge.
