### 韶州龍光諲禪師

> Chan Master Yin of Longguang in Shaozhou

僧問。人王與法王。相見時如何。師曰。越國君王曾按劒。龍光一句不曾虧。上堂。良久曰。不煩珍重。問。如何是西來意。師曰。胡風一扇。漢地成規。問。撥塵見佛時如何。師拊掌顧視。問。如何是龍光一句。師曰。不空罥索。曰。學人不會。師曰。唵。問。如何是極則為人處。師曰。殷勤囑付後來人。問。賓頭盧一身。為甚麼赴四天下供。師曰。千江同一月。萬戶盡逢春。遂有偈曰。龍光山頂寶月輪。照耀乾坤爍暗雲。尊者不移元一質。千家影現萬家春。

> A monk asked, "When the Human King and the Dharma King meet, what happens?" The master said, "The king of Yue once pressed his sword; Longguang's phrase never falls short." The master ascended the hall. After a long silence, he said, "No need for further reminders." A monk asked, "What is the meaning of the Western Patriarch's coming?" The master said, "A barbarian wind blows once, and the Han lands follow the rule." A monk asked, "What about seeing the Buddha after clearing away the dust?" The master clapped his hands and looked around. A monk asked, "What is the single phrase of Longguang?" The master said, "The unfailing lasso." The monk said, "I don't understand." The master said, "Om." A monk asked, "What is the ultimate way of guiding others?" The master said, "Earnestly entrust it to those who come later." A monk asked, "Why does the venerable Pindola, with one body, attend offerings in all four continents?" The master said, "A thousand rivers share the same moon; ten thousand households all meet spring." Thereupon he offered a verse: "On Longguang's peak, the precious moon wheel shines, Illuminating heaven and earth, piercing the dark clouds. The venerable one, unmoving in his original essence, Appears in a thousand homes, bringing spring to ten thousand."
