### 鼎州普安道禪師

> Master Dao of Dingzhou Pu'an

三句頌。函葢乾坤曰。乾坤并萬象。地獄及天堂。物物皆真見。頭頭用不傷。截斷眾流曰。堆山積嶽來。一一盡塵埃。更擬論玄妙。冰消瓦解摧。隨波逐浪曰。辯口利舌問。高低總不虧。還如應病藥。診候在臨時。三句外曰。當人如舉唱。三句豈能該。有問如何事。南嶽與天台。擡薦商量曰。相見不揚眉。君東我亦西。紅霞穿碧落。白日繞須彌。

> A three-line verse: \*\*Covering Heaven and Earth:\*\* Heaven and earth, along with all phenomena— hell and paradise alike. Every thing reveals true vision; each action works without harm. \*\*Cutting Off All Streams:\*\* Mountains piled upon mountains come— each one is but dust and ash. If you still seek mystery and wonder, ice melts, tiles shatter, all collapses. \*\*Following the Waves and Currents:\*\* With sharp tongue and clever questions, high or low, nothing is lost. Like medicine prescribed for illness, the diagnosis comes at the right moment. \*\*Beyond the Three Lines:\*\* If someone raises a question, can three lines ever cover it all? If asked, "What is this matter?"— Southern Peak and Tiantai Mountain. \*\*Lifting Up and Discussing:\*\* Meeting without raising an eyebrow— you go east, I go west.
