> Master Sanjiao Zhiyao of Tanzhou

上堂。揑土定千鈞。秤頭不立蠅。箇中些子事。走殺嶺南能。還有薦得底麼。直饒薦得。也是第二月。

> The master ascended the hall and said, "Pinching a handful of clay determines a thousand-pound weight—a balance's tip cannot hold a fly. In this there is something tiny, yet it has exhausted the clever ones of Lingnan. Is there anyone who can understand this? Even if you fully grasp it, it is still like a second moon—merely a reflection."
