> Chapter 447

如是我聞：

> Thus have I heard:

一時，佛住王舍城迦蘭陀竹園。

> Thus have I heard: At one time, the Buddha was staying in the Bamboo Grove of Kalandaka, near Rajagaha.

爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「眾生常與界俱，與界和合。云何與界俱？謂眾生不善心時與不善界俱，善心時與善界俱，鄙心時與鄙界俱，勝心時與勝界俱。

> At that time, the World-Honored One said to the monks: "Living beings always dwell with their realms and merge with them. What does it mean to dwell with realms? When beings have unwholesome minds, they dwell with unwholesome realms; when they have wholesome minds, they dwell with wholesome realms; when they have base minds, they dwell with base realms; when they have noble minds, they dwell with noble realms."

「時，尊者憍陳如與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是上座多聞大德，出家已久，具修梵行。

> At that time, the Venerable Kaudinya, along with a group of monks, was walking in meditation nearby. All of them were senior elders of great learning, long ordained, and fully devoted to the pure spiritual life.

「復有尊者大迦葉與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是少欲知足，頭陀苦行，不畜遺餘。

> Then there was the Venerable Mahakashyapa, walking back and forth in meditation with a large group of monks, all of whom were content with little, practiced ascetic discipline, and kept no surplus possessions.

「尊者舍利弗與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是大智辯才。

> Venerable Shariputra and many monks were walking in meditation nearby, all of them possessing great wisdom and eloquence.

「時，尊者大目揵連與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是神通大力。

> At that time, the Venerable Mahamaudgalyayana was walking meditation nearby together with many monks, all of whom possessed great miraculous powers.

「時，阿那律陀與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是天眼明徹。

> Then, Aniruddha and a multitude of monks were walking back and forth nearby, all of them with clear, penetrating divine vision.

「時，尊者二十億耳與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是勇猛精進，專勤修行者。

> At that time, the Venerable Twenty Ears, along with many monks, was walking in meditation nearby, all of them diligently striving and devoted to their practice.

「時，尊者陀驃與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是能為大眾修供具者。

「時，尊者優波離與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是通達律行。

「時，尊者富樓那與眾多比丘於近處經行，皆是辯才善說法者。

「時，尊者迦旃延與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆能分別諸經，善說法相。時，尊者阿難與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是多聞總持。

「時，尊者羅睺羅與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是善持律行。

> Then the Venerable Rahula, together with a number of monks, was walking meditation nearby—all of them well-versed in the Vinaya and diligent in their practice.

「時，提婆達多與眾多比丘於近處經行，一切皆是習眾惡行，是名比丘常與界俱，與界和合，是故，諸比丘！當善分別種種諸界。」

> At that time, Devadatta and many monks were walking back and forth nearby, all of them engaged in various evil deeds. This is what is called a monk who constantly dwells with certain realms and is united with those realms. Therefore, monks, you should clearly distinguish the various realms.

佛說是經時。諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。

> When the Buddha spoke this sutra, all the monks, upon hearing what the Buddha had said, were filled with joy and faithfully practiced his teachings.
