### （一〇九四）

> (1094)

如是我聞：

> Thus have I heard:

一時，佛住欝鞞羅處尼連禪河側菩提樹下，初成正覺。

> At one time, the Buddha was staying at Uruvela, on the bank of the Nairanjana River, beneath the Bodhi tree, having just attained full Enlightenment.

爾時，世尊獨一靜處，專心禪思，作如是念：「我今解脫苦行。善哉！我今善解脫苦行，先修正願，今已果得無上菩提。」

> At that time, the World-Honored One was alone in a quiet place, focusing his mind in meditation, and had this thought: "I have now freed myself from ascetic practices. Excellent! I have now truly freed myself from ascetic practices. I first made my vow, and now I have fully attained supreme Enlightenment."

時，魔波旬作是念：「今沙門瞿曇住欝鞞羅處尼連禪河側菩提樹下，初成正覺。我今當往，為作留難。」即化作年少，住於佛前，而說偈言：

> At that time, Mara, the Evil One, had this thought: "The monk Gautama is now staying at Uruvela, on the bank of the Nairanjana River, under the Bodhi tree, having just attained perfect enlightenment. I should go and create obstacles for him." So he transformed himself into a young man, stood in front of the Buddha, and spoke this verse:

「大修苦行處， 能令得清淨，而今反棄捨， 於此何所求？欲於此求淨， 淨亦無由得。」

爾時，世尊作是念：「此魔波旬欲作嬈亂。」即說偈言：

「知諸修苦行， 皆與無義俱，終不獲其利， 如弓彈有聲。戒定聞慧道， 我已悉修習，得第一清淨， 其淨無有上。」

時，魔波旬作是念：「沙門瞿曇已知我心。」內懷憂慼，即沒不現。
