> Master Liaozong of Xuefeng Temple, Fuzhou

上堂。空索索。冷氷氷。清虗之理畢竟無身。為什麼却有許多烟雨。曉得麼。若曉得。七種供養諸人。若曉不得。滴水難消。

> The master ascended the hall and said: "Empty and bare, cold and icy. The principle of pure emptiness ultimately has no form—so why is there so much mist and rain? Do you understand? If you understand, you have offered the seven kinds of offerings to all. If you do not understand, even a single drop of water will be hard to digest."
