上堂舉密庵因應菴問如何是正法眼藏。密庵對曰破沙盆。師頌曰。白玉琢成沒彈子。黃金鑄就鐵崑崙。千年滯貨無人買。未免如今累子孫。送僧偈曰。興化當年打克賓。叢林千載話猶存。雲黃有棒且高閣。只麼煎茶送出門。

> The Master ascended the hall and cited the story of Mian, who asked Ying, "What is the correct Dharma eye?" Mian replied, "A broken sand bowl." The Master composed a verse: "White jade carved, yet no marble; gold cast, yet an iron mountain. For a thousand years, this stale goods sits unsold, and now it burdens descendants." He also gave a parting verse: "In old times, Ke Bin was beaten by Xinghua, a tale that echoes through monasteries for ages. Here, the staff is merely hung high; just brew tea and see the guest off at the gate."
