> Master Lingyan Zhuxi

上堂。諸人每日行住坐臥聞見覺知。俯仰折旋攀附應接。頭頭妙用圓融。處處神光具足。為甚聞鐘聲披衣。聞鼓聲上堂。向這裏見得明白。許你七穿八穴。不然。萬紫千紅零落盡。一年春事又成休。

> The Master addressed the assembly: "In your daily lives—walking, standing, sitting, lying down, hearing, seeing, feeling, and knowing; in every bow, turn, bend, and response—each movement is a wondrous function, perfectly integrated. Everywhere, the light of the spirit shines in full. Yet why is it that when you hear the bell, you put on your robes, and when you hear the drum, you come to the hall? If you can see clearly right here, I will grant that you have penetrated through all obstacles. If not, then as the flowers fade and fall, another year's spring passes away in vain."
