> Master Guangxiao Xueji Gang

> The Master ascended the hall and said: "Our school has no words or phrases, nor does it have a single dharma to give to others. The ground is strewn with swords and spears, the body covered in mud and water. Guangxiao only knows how to check and correct. Old Deshan himself, unaware, opens his eyes and wets the bed." The Master ascended the hall and said: "The moment an eyebrow blinks, even a shadow cannot be captured. The slightest thought arises, and you are ten thousand miles away in Yazhou. Stop! Rest! Go to the ancient temple's incense burner. Go to the cold, damp place. Debts have their creditors, wrongs have their perpetrators. The Buddhas of the three times slip from their bowls. He then gave a shout. The Master ascended the hall and said: "Release the thread, and the paths multiply. Iron walls and silver mountains remain unmoved by a single dust mote. Yet everywhere things crack and shatter. If this is so, then Shakyamuni wasted his words, and Vimalakirti needlessly composed his verses. If someone can understand this, the Qiantang River tide comes twice a day—not an extraordinary thing. If not, then the staff is used just right." He struck the ground once with his staff. The Master ascended the hall and said: "In the ten directions, there is no image or shadow. In the three realms, all traces vanish. Leaves fall like rain over a thousand cliffs; pines roar with wind through ten thousand valleys. Many people come to this point and just stop there. Thirty years later, can they avoid beating their chests in regret?"
