> Ningzhou Twin Peaks Qianfu Wood Cliff Benzhi Chan Master

中秋上堂。靈山指月。曹溪話月。寒山比月。馬師翫月。這一隊漢總是弄光影底。要見真月未得在。且如何是真月。以拂子打圓相云。會麼。無物堪比倫。教我如何說。上堂。若論此事。如隔墻看馬騎。眨得眼來千里萬里。高亭見德山隔江招手便乃橫趍。早遲八刻更待揚眉瞬目。竪拂拈槌堪作何用。靈利漢向這裏拂袖便行。西峰有棒也未到你喫在。上堂。雞鳴丑。愁見起來還漏逗。裙子褊衫箇也無。袈裟形相些些有。裩無襠。袴無口。頭上青灰三五斗。指望修行利濟人。誰知變成不唧𠺕。趙州老人大似積世故家。富貴固是薰人。只是不合風流太過。西峰今日不是眼皮熱他。也只要後代兒孫太家知有。

> Mid-Autumn Festival sermon. The Buddha on Vulture Peak pointed at the moon; Huineng spoke of the moon; Hanshan compared it to the moon; Mazu enjoyed the moon. These masters were all playing with reflections and shadows—they had not yet seen the true moon. So what is the true moon? The master drew a circle with his whisk and said, "Do you understand? Nothing can compare to it. How can I put it into words?" Sermon: If we talk about this matter, it's like watching someone ride a horse from behind a wall—blink and you've missed it by a thousand miles. When Gaoting saw Deshan waving from across the river, he immediately crossed over—that was already eight minutes too late, let alone waiting for raised eyebrows or fluttering eyes. What use are raising the whisk or striking the gavel? A sharp person would simply flick their sleeves and walk away right here. West Peak has a stick, but it hasn't reached you yet. Sermon: The rooster crows at the hour of the Ox, and I worry that when I get up, I'll still be lingering. No skirt, no robe—just a bit of a kasaya's shape. Pants without a seat, trousers without an opening. On my head, three or five bushels of gray hair. I hoped to cultivate and help others, but who knew I'd become a useless fool. Old Master Zhaozhou was like someone from an old, wealthy family—wealth indeed perfumes a person, but he was just too fond of elegance. Today, West Peak isn't doing this out of envy. It's simply for descendants to know that such a matter exists.
