> Great Master Sui watched a turtle on dry land. A monk then asked, "All beings have bones beneath their skin. Why does this being have skin wrapped around its bones?" Sui took off one of his shoes, covered the turtle with it, and left.

如龜藏六已彰名。休向人前弄眼睛。一隻皮鞋都蓋却。直至如今猶未惺。

> Like the turtle that hides its six faculties, the name is already made known. Do not show off your cleverness before others. A single leather shoe covers it all— Yet even now, it has not awakened.
