逍遙和尚。一日師在禪床上坐。有僧鹿西問云。念念攀緣心心永寂。師云。昨日晚間也有人恁麼道。西云。道箇什麼。師云。不知。西云。請師說。師以拂子驀口打。西便出。師告大眾云。頂門上著一隻眼。

> Master Xiaoyao was sitting on the meditation platform one day when a monk named Luxi asked, "Thought after thought clings to objects, yet the mind remains forever still." The master said, "Someone also said that last night." Luxi asked, "What did they say?" The master replied, "I don't know." Luxi then said, "Please, Master, explain." The master struck him across the mouth with his whisk, and Luxi left. The master then told the assembly, "Place an eye on the crown of your head."
