Offering to the Devas Ritual

Chapter 6: Reciting the Mantra

If you are not reciting the Shurangama Mantra, first recite the Great Compassion Mantra to purify the space. Then, invite the Three Jewels and the heavenly beings. Now, I will recite the Ten Minor Mantras. When reaching the Mantra of Merit Deity, it must be recited seven times to summon that deity and their retinue. If reciting the Shurangama Mantra and the Ten Mantras, when reaching the Mantra of the Heavenly Maiden, it must also be recited seven times to summon that deity and others. The mantra is as follows:

Homage to the Buddha. Homage to the Dharma. Homage to the Sangha. Homage to the Noble, Great, and Compassionate One.

Thus it is said: O Paripūrṇa, O Protector, O Samantadāśani, O Mahāvihāragati, O Samantavinīgati, O Mahākalyāṇa, O Paniparipani, O Sarvārthasādhaka, O Samantasupāriti, O Pūrṇa, O Āyatanadharmagati, O Mahāvikurvite, O Mahāmaitrigati, O Lobhasamgitīti, O Samgitīti, O Samanta, O Aṭa, O Anupalāṇi.

After reciting the dedication and announcing the prayer's intent, bow and rise. Stand upright, join your palms together, and with a sincere and focused mind, visualize the Three Jewels, the heavenly beings, and the eight classes of protectors filling the entire space, manifesting within the sacred assembly hall. Only then proceed to make the offerings.
