Portrait Inscription for Master Zibai
The cosmic web was torn, its threads no longer holding. Then the Great Master arose, with strength to mend its folds. He dwelled in the lion's den, and felled the sandalwood tree. Before his power fully spread, his claws and fangs were plain to see. He beat the poisoned drum, yet poured sweet dew like rain. Those who drank were drunk; those who heard went mad with pain. In silent emptiness, his thunderous tongue did roar, Like rolling thunder, flashing lightning—startling to the core. With the great earth's heart, he raised a vajra spine. Tendons in his eyes, yet nothing held within his mind. Linji lives on; Huangbo still breathes. Who truly knows the Master, who the title neither seeks nor leaves? With boundless stride he walks, no rigid rule in sight, Turns and tosses over Mount Sumeru's height, And with one fist shatters the land of birthless light.
