### 千眼千臂觀世音菩薩大身呪第一用後總攝身印

> Homage to the Three Jewels. Homage to the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Homage to the Buddha of Infinite Light, the Tathagata, the Worthy One, the Fully and Perfectly Enlightened One. Homage to the Noble Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, the Great Being, the Great Compassionate One. Homage to the Great Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the Great Compassionate One. Homage to the Buddha of the Pure Land, the Blessed One. Homage to the Bodhisattva, the Great Being, the Great Compassionate One. Homage to the One who manifests in the world, the Tathagata. Homage to the Auspicious One, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Worthy One, the Fully and Perfectly Enlightened One. I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Homage to the Noble Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva, the Great Being, the Great Compassionate One. Thus: Om, the Great Compassionate One, the Great Bodhisattva. Homage to the Great Compassionate One, the Great Bodhisattva. The Great Compassionate One, the Great Bodhisattva, the Great Compassionate One. Homage to the Great Compassionate One, the Great Bodhisattva. May all beings be free from suffering. May all beings attain Enlightenment. May all beings find peace. May the merit of this practice benefit all beings.

爾時觀世音菩薩摩訶薩說：「此陀羅尼名薄伽梵蓮花手嚴飾寶杖，世尊於大金剛歡喜殿說，為尊勝菩薩及無量天、龍、緊那羅之所讚歎，為摧壞廣大業障山故。若有得聞者、若讀若誦此陀羅尼者，彼人所有一切煩惱業障悉得消滅。若有人於晨朝時生尊重心，誦此陀羅尼者，常為觀世音菩薩恒常隨逐擁護是人，所思念事皆得成就。若有求願使得成就者，當獨坐靜處，心念觀世音菩薩更無餘緣，誦此陀羅尼七遍，無願不果，又得一切眾生之所愛樂，不墮一切諸惡之趣。若坐若行若住，常念佛如對目前者，是人於無量百千俱胝生所有積集諸惡罪業皆得消滅，是人當得具足千轉輪王之福，生生常得與觀世音菩薩同時出生生貴姓家。若以滿一掬香花散於觀世音菩薩前，誦此陀羅尼七遍者，得大千功德大悲法性，彼人於世間得大力成就。若看菩薩面誦此陀羅尼呪者，即得見觀世音菩薩微笑相，見已即得離垢地，能照耀世間，即於此生當得見佛慈念攝授，臨命終之時如入禪定，生生之處得宿命智，所有罪障皆悉消滅。若欲受持此陀羅尼者，當於白月十五日受持八戒齋、著白淨衣，於有舍利佛塔及有舍利佛前並得作之。用白檀作泥塗壇其白檀於石上摩，取粖用塗地，以種種花散彼壇內。佛前燒香然燈，即於佛前生恭敬心，觀世音菩薩而來入是壇內，當誦此陀羅尼一百八遍。是人所有一切罪障、五逆重罪悉皆消滅，身口意業皆得清淨，得佛三昧力灌頂力，波羅蜜地力、殊勝智力悉皆成就。若須雨時，當視天誦此陀羅尼，甘雨應時即下。若視地誦此陀羅尼者，能令百穀皆得成熟。若於枯池河泉邊誦此陀羅尼者，即得水還盈滿。若一切病患，當誦此陀羅尼，以手摩之即得除差。於失念者邊，誦此陀羅尼，還得正念。若於飢渴人邊，當視其面誦此陀羅尼，所有飢渴悉皆消滅。若欲結界，當入池水中，寫此陀羅尼繫著幢上，一百由旬內無諸衰患，即成結界擁護成就。」

> At that time, Bodhisattva Guanyin, the Great Bodhisattva, spoke: "This dharani is named 'The Bhagavan's Lotus-Hand Adorned Jeweled Staff.' The World-Honored One proclaimed it in the Great Vajra Joy Hall, and it was praised by the Bodhisattva Supreme Excellence and by countless gods, dragons, and kinnaras, for the purpose of destroying the great mountain of karmic obstacles. If anyone hears this dharani, or reads or recites it, all their afflictions and karmic obstacles will be completely eradicated. If someone, with a respectful heart, recites this dharani at dawn, Bodhisattva Guanyin will always follow and protect that person, and all that they wish for will be accomplished. If someone seeks to have their vows fulfilled, they should sit alone in a quiet place, focus their mind on Bodhisattva Guanyin with no other concerns, and recite this dharani seven times. No vow will go unfulfilled, and they will be loved by all beings and will not fall into any evil realms. Whether sitting, walking, or standing, if one constantly keeps the Buddha in mind as if before their eyes, all the evil karma accumulated over countless hundreds of thousands of millions of lifetimes will be eradicated. That person will attain the merit of a thousand chakravartin kings, and in life after life will always be born together with Bodhisattva Guanyin into noble families. If one scatters a handful of fragrant flowers before Bodhisattva Guanyin and recites this dharani seven times, one will gain the merit of a great thousand-world system and the nature of great compassion. That person will attain great power in the world. If one gazes upon the Bodhisattva's face while reciting this dharani, one will see Bodhisattva Guanyin's smiling face. Having seen it, one will attain the Stage of Freedom from Defilement and will be able to illuminate the world. In this very life, one will behold the Buddha's compassionate mindfulness and receive His embrace. At the moment of death, one will be as if entering meditation. In whatever place one is born, one will gain the power of remembering past lives, and all karmic obstacles will be completely eradicated. If one wishes to undertake this dharani, one should on the fifteenth day of the white moon observe the eight precepts and fasting, wear clean white garments, and perform this practice before a stupa containing relics or before a Buddha image with relics. Take white sandalwood and make a paste to coat the altar <note>Grind the white sandalwood on a stone, take the powder and use it to coat the ground</note>, and scatter various flowers within that altar. Burn incense and light lamps before the Buddha, then with a respectful heart before the Buddha, Bodhisattva Guanyin will come and enter that altar. One should recite this dharani one hundred and eight times. All of that person's karmic obstacles and the five heinous crimes will be completely eradicated. The karma of body, speech, and mind will all become pure, and one will attain the Buddha's power of samadhi, the power of empowerment, the power of the stages of perfection, and supreme wisdom — all will be accomplished. If rain is needed, one should gaze at the sky and recite this dharani, and sweet rain will fall in due time. If one gazes at the earth and recites this dharani, it can cause all grains to ripen. If one recites this dharani beside a dried-up pond, river, or spring, the water will return and fill it. For any illness, one should recite this dharani and rub the affected area with the hand, and it will be cured. For one who has lost mindfulness, recite this dharani, and they will regain right mindfulness. For one who is hungry and thirsty, gaze upon their face and recite this dharani, and all their hunger and thirst will be eliminated. If one wishes to establish a protective boundary, one should enter a pond, write this dharani and tie it to a banner. Within one hundred yojanas there will be no misfortune, and the protective boundary will be established and protection accomplished."
