### 千眼千臂觀世音菩薩總持陀羅尼印第二

> Thousand-Eyed, Thousand-Armed Guanyin Bodhisattva Dharani Seal, Part 2

「准前身印上，合掌當心，以五指相叉左押右，以二頭指直竪頭相拄，其大母指附頭指押第一文上，掌少開。此印名總持陀羅尼法。作此印者，能滅除無量生死劫來惡業，罪障一時消滅，當來往生十方淨土。往昔釋迦牟尼如來臨欲成道，為魔王所惱，作此總持陀羅尼印，獲得安樂禪定。呪曰：

> Place your hands together at your heart in the previous mudra. Cross the fingers of both hands, with the left over the right. Raise the two index fingers straight up and touch them tip to tip. Place the thumbs over the index fingers, pressing on the first joint, and let the palms stay slightly open. This mudra is called the Dharani of Total Retention. Whoever forms this mudra can wipe away immeasurable evil karma from countless lifetimes of birth and death; their karmic obstacles are dissolved at once, and in the future they will be reborn in the pure lands of the ten directions. Long ago, when Shakyamuni Tathagata was about to attain enlightenment, he was troubled by the demon king. By forming this Dharani of Total Retention mudra, he attained peaceful meditation. The mantra says:

「跢姪他一薩婆陀羅尼二曼茶羅耶三󰫎醯曳醯四鉢囉二合摩輸馱五薩跢跛耶六莎訶七」

> Tadyatha. All dharani mandalas. Hiye hi. Parama suddha. Sattvaaya. Svaha.
