> Eight

諸比丘．而彼等間．有一有情．從天身死．來生此〔地上。〕來生此者．離家出家。彼離家出家已．以慇懃、精勤、修定、不放逸、正憶念．心入三昧．憶上所述前生生存．除此而外．無復憶及．以如是心．逮得三昧。

> Monks, among those beings, there is one who, having passed away from the heavenly realm, is reborn here on earth. Upon being reborn here, they leave the home life and become a renunciant. Having renounced the home life, with diligence, effort, devotion to meditation, mindfulness, and right recollection, their mind enters concentration. They recall the previous life as described above—nothing more comes to mind—and with such a mind, they attain meditative absorption.
