### 第十　貪經之二

> Chapter 10: Greed (2)

此是諦實，世尊如是語，此經是世尊證阿羅漢已，說。

> This is the truth, as the World-Honored One spoke it. This sutra was spoken by the World-Honored One after attaining arhatship.

如是我聞，諸比丘，若諸比丘，比丘尼眾，不能斷貪瞋痴，我說是人，不能得渡，有浪，有旋渦，有惡獸，有羅剎之海。諸比丘，若比丘，比丘尼眾，能斷貪瞋痴，我說是人，能渡有波有浪，有旋渦，有惡獸，有羅剎之海，能到彼岸，住於陸地。

> Thus have I heard: "Monks, if monks and nuns cannot let go of greed, hatred, and delusion, I say such people cannot cross the sea that has waves, whirlpools, fierce beasts, and demons. Monks, if monks and nuns can let go of greed, hatred, and delusion, I say such people can cross the sea with waves, whirlpools, fierce beasts, and demons, and reach the other shore, standing on solid ground."

世尊說如是義已，於彼經中，世尊說如是偈。

> The World-Honored One, having spoken these truths, then uttered these verses in the sutra.

我告說言， 能斷貪瞋， 痴及無明， 則能越渡， 惡獸羅剎， 可怖波浪，難渡之海。 如是之人， 越諸法著， 遠離死亡， 無有生緣， 棄再生苦，達於空虛， 不再來生， 不為死王， 之所困惑。

> I declare: one who can cut off greed, hatred, Delusion, and ignorance, Can cross beyond the fierce beasts, demons, And terrifying waves— The sea that is so hard to cross. Such a person transcends all attachments to things, Escapes death, Has no cause for rebirth, Abandons the suffering of being born again, Reaches emptiness, Comes no more into this world, And is no longer troubled By the King of Death.

世尊說如是義，如是我聞。

> Thus have I heard: The World-Honored One spoke these teachings.

第十經終
