### 受施隨散

> Receiving Alms and Distributing Them Freely

梁慧開。吳郡海鹽人。歷聽藏旻二師經論。講演名世。豫章守謝譿迎請說經。厚加䞋遺。還未達都。分散已盡。晉安守劉業餉錢一萬。即贍寒餒。曾不終日。情性疎率。不事形儀。衣服塵滓。末嘗舉意浣濯。

> Liang Huikai was a native of Haiyan in the Wu commandery. He studied the sutras and treatises extensively under the teachers Zang and Min, and became renowned for his lectures and discourses. Xie Hui, the governor of Yuzhang, invited him to expound the scriptures, and bestowed generous offerings upon him. Yet before he even reached the capital, he had already distributed it all. Liu Ye, the governor of Jin'an, once sent him ten thousand coins in support, but he used it to aid the cold and hungry, and it was gone before the day was out. His nature was carefree and unrestrained; he paid no mind to outward appearances. His clothes were often dusty and soiled, yet he never gave a thought to washing them.

贊曰。講法而不受䞋遺。是之謂法施。噫。安得人人法施如開公乎。

> Praise it is said: To teach the Dharma without accepting offerings in return—this is called the gift of the Dharma. Ah, how can everyone give the gift of the Dharma like Master Kai?
