Śrīmālādevī Siṃhanāda Sūtra (勝鬘師子吼一乘大方便方廣經)

Chapter 2: The Ten Precepts

At that time, after hearing the prophecy, Shrimala respectfully stood and received the Ten Great Vows:

"World-Honored One! From this day until I attain enlightenment, I will not allow even a single thought to arise that would violate the precepts I have received."

"World-Honored One! From this day forward until I attain enlightenment, I will not harbor arrogance toward any respected elders."

"World-Honored One! From this day forward until I attain enlightenment, I will not harbor anger toward any living being."

"World-Honored One, from this day forward until I attain enlightenment, if I ever see living beings who are lonely, imprisoned, sick, or suffering from all kinds of hardships and afflictions, I will never abandon them for even a moment. Instead, I will surely bring them peace and security, use virtue and wisdom to benefit them, help them escape from suffering, and only then will I stop."
