The Sutra on the Eight Realizations of Great Beings
The commentary, along with the introductory and concluding sections, has been compiled with the main sutra into ten volumes. Last year, during the Jiashan period, it was printed in the traditional palm-leaf format and widely circulated. However, some noted that while the palm-leaf format is excellent, traveling monks and scholars still found it inconvenient to carry in their bags. Therefore, Zhang Ziming of Wu Prefecture, along with like-minded companions, initiated the printing of a bound book format to suit everyone’s convenience. The calligraphy was done by Luo Yuan of the same prefecture; the printing blocks were provided by Wang Wenyong. Those responsible for proofreading, detailed review, fundraising, and project management were Siju of Yichun, Shi Xun of Huating, Shan Yu, and Zheng Yin of Gaochang. The printing began in late spring of the Zhizheng Renchen year and was completed by the eleventh month. It is hoped that all who contributed to its printing, those who wrote or assisted in its completion, as well as those who see, hear, read, recite, or uphold it, will accumulate blessings and deepen their understanding of the Dharma. May each word radiate light, eternally supporting the sacred teachings and spreading the Dharma seal. May everyone awaken to their true nature, attaining Buddhahood without passing through countless eons.
