### 白衣金幢二婆羅門緣起經一部三卷

小乘經藏收，無品目會分。佛在舍衛國故廢園林鹿母堂中說。

> The scriptures of the Lesser Vehicle are collected here, without divisions into sections or chapters. The Buddha spoke this teaching while dwelling in the Deer Mother Hall, within the abandoned grove in the land of Śrāvastī.

此中所明，有白衣、金幢二婆羅門同詣佛所，宗計互陳，如來應機，破其異見。而婆羅門者，癡冥覆性，橫執隨生，覺智舒光，正心開曉，決虛妄之障累，示涅槃之真常，迴彼邪心，歸于正道，心意悟解，果利圓成者也。

> This passage explains how two Brahmins, one in white robes and one with a golden banner, came together to visit the Buddha. Each presented their own doctrines and views. The Tathagata, responding to their capacities, refuted their mistaken views. Brahmins are those whose nature is obscured by ignorance, giving rise to stubborn attachments. When the light of awakened wisdom shines forth, their true minds are opened and illuminated. This cuts through the burdens of delusion, reveals the true and eternal nature of Nirvana, turns their misguided hearts back toward the right path, and brings about a profound understanding. Thus, the fruit of benefit is fully realized.

右，三藏沙門施護譯，法護、惟淨同譯，沙門清沼、澄珠、文一筆受，沙門啟玄、脩靜綴文，沙門道一、紹溥、重珣、瓊玉、守晏、玄測、智臻、簡長證義，刑部侍郎㕘知政事趙安仁潤文，入內內侍省內侍殿頭羅自賔監譯。

是月一日，監譯中使引三藏等，詣崇政殿，捧所譯經，具表上進。其詞曰：

臣施護等言：臣等今新譯就《白衣金幢二婆羅門緣起經》一部三卷者。伏以此經理暢偏真，乘非滿字，盪邪心之橫計，示正智之真常。白衣、金幢，本婆羅門所稱之號；鹿堂廢苑，乃釋迦文闡法之場。逗接小根，開施方便，導明宿事，啟迪勝因，允標緣起之由，克被當機之眾。𧆛伸翻衍，用廣流通，慶屬昭辰，幸圓寶軸。臣施護等誠懽誠抃，頓首頓首。伏惟崇文廣武儀天尊道寶應章感聖明仁孝皇帝陛下，德包遂古，道契先天，廣神智之無方，運佛慈而溥濟。法財洪富，福蘊誕隆，睠大覺之芳猷，樹華宮之象譯，豚魚及信，夷貊輸忠。臣等忝職句筵，獲翻貝偈，當祝融之司律，會竺典以成文，仰集珍祥，上資景祚。前件新譯經，謹繕寫上進以聞。

是日，命坐賜茶，親加撫慰，仍賜束帛。其經詔付有司，入藏頒行。
