### 品類足論辯七事品第四之一

十八界、十二處、五蘊、五取蘊、六界、十大地法、十大善地法、十大煩惱地法、十小煩惱地法、五煩惱、五觸、五見、五根、五法、六識身、六觸身、六受身、六想身、六思身、六愛身。

十八界云何？謂眼界色界眼識界、耳界聲界耳識界、鼻界香界鼻識界、舌界味界舌識界、身界觸界身識界、意界法界意識界。十二處云何？謂眼處色處、耳處聲處、鼻處香處、舌處味處、身處觸處、意處法處。五蘊云何？謂色蘊、受蘊、想蘊、行蘊、識蘊。五取蘊云何？謂色取蘊、受取蘊、想取蘊、行取蘊、識取蘊。六界云何？謂地界、水界、火界、風界、空界、識界。十大地法云何？謂受、想、思、觸、作意、欲、勝解、念、定、慧。十大善地法云何？謂信、勤、慚、愧、無貪、無瞋、輕安、捨、不放逸、不害。十大煩惱地法云何？謂不信、懈怠、失念、心亂、無明、不正知、非理作意、邪勝解、掉舉、放逸。十小煩惱地法云何？謂忿、恨、覆、惱、嫉、慳、誑、諂、憍、害。五煩惱云何？謂欲貪、色貪、無色貪、瞋、癡。五觸云何？謂有對觸、增語觸、明觸、無明觸、非明非無明觸。五見云何？謂有身見、邊執見、邪見、見取、戒禁取。五根云何？謂樂根、苦根、喜根、憂根、捨根。五法云何？謂尋、伺、識、無慚、無愧。六識身云何？謂眼識、耳識、鼻識、舌識、身識、意識。六觸身云何？謂眼觸、耳觸、鼻觸、舌觸、身觸、意觸。六受身云何？謂眼觸所生受、耳觸所生受、鼻觸所生受、舌觸所生受、身觸所生受、意觸所生受。六想身云何？謂眼觸所生想、耳觸所生想、鼻觸所生想、舌觸所生想、身觸所生想、意觸所生想。六思身云何？謂眼觸所生思、耳觸所生思、鼻觸所生思、舌觸所生思、身觸所生思、意觸所生思。六愛身云何？謂眼觸所生愛、耳觸所生愛、鼻觸所生愛、舌觸所生愛、身觸所生愛、意觸所生愛。

They are: feeling, perception, intention, contact, attention, desire, decision, mindfulness, concentration, wisdom. What are the ten wholesome mental factors? They are: faith, diligence, conscience, shame, non-greed, non-hatred, tranquility, equanimity, non-negligence, non-harm. What are the ten unwholesome mental factors? They are: lack of faith, laziness, forgetfulness, mental scatter, ignorance, improper understanding, irrational attention, wrong decision, restlessness, negligence. What are the ten minor unwholesome mental factors? They are: anger, resentment, concealment, spite, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, flattery, arrogance, harmfulness. What are the five afflictions? They are: desire for the sense realm, desire for the form realm, desire for the formless realm, aversion, ignorance. What are the five kinds of contact? They are: contact through the senses, verbal contact, contact with clarity, contact with ignorance, contact that is neither clear nor ignorant. What are the five views? They are: view of self, extreme views, wrong views, attachment to views, attachment to rules and practices. What are the five faculties? They are: the faculty of pleasure, the faculty of pain, the faculty of joy, the faculty of sorrow, the faculty of equanimity. What are the five factors? They are: initial thought, sustained thought, consciousness, shamelessness, lack of concern. What are the six types of consciousness? They are: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, mind consciousness. What are the six types of contact? They are: eye contact, ear contact, nose contact, tongue contact, body contact, mind contact. What are the six types of feeling born from contact? They are: feeling born from eye contact, feeling born from ear contact, feeling born from nose contact, feeling born from tongue contact, feeling born from body contact, feeling born from mind contact. What are the six types of perception born from contact? They are: perception born from eye contact, perception born from ear contact, perception born from nose contact, perception born from tongue contact, perception born from body contact, perception born from mind contact. What are the six types of intention born from contact? They are: intention born from eye contact, intention born from ear contact, intention born from nose contact, intention born from tongue contact, intention born from body contact, intention born from mind contact. What are the six types of craving born from contact? They are: craving born from eye contact, craving born from ear contact, craving born from nose contact, craving born from tongue contact, craving born from body contact, craving born from mind contact.

眼界云何？謂眼於色已正當見及彼同分。色界云何？謂色為眼已正當見及彼同分。眼識界云何？謂眼及色為緣生眼識。如是眼為增上、色為所緣，於眼所識色諸已正當了別及彼同分。耳界云何？謂耳於聲已正當聞及彼同分。聲界云何？謂聲為耳已正當聞及彼同分。耳識界云何？謂耳及聲為緣生耳識。如是耳為增上、聲為所緣，於耳所識聲諸已正當了別及彼同分。鼻界云何？謂鼻於香已正當嗅及彼同分。香界云何？謂香為鼻已正當嗅及彼同分。鼻識界云何？謂鼻及香為緣生鼻識。如是鼻為增上、香為所緣，於鼻所識香諸已正當了別及彼同分。舌界云何？謂舌於味已正當嘗及彼同分。味界云何？謂味為舌已正當嘗及彼同分。舌識界云何？謂舌及味為緣生舌識。如是舌為增上、味為所緣，於舌所識味諸已正當了別及彼同分。身界云何？謂身於觸已正當觸及彼同分。觸界云何？謂觸為身已正當觸及彼同分。身識界云何？謂身及觸為緣生身識。如是身為增上、觸為所緣，於身所識觸諸已正當了別及彼同分。意界云何？謂意於法已正當了及彼同分。法界云何？謂法為意已正當了。意識界云何？謂意及法為緣生意識。如是意為增上、法為所緣，於意所識法諸已正當了別及彼同分。

眼處云何？謂眼是色已正當能見及彼同分。色處云何？謂色是眼已正當所見及彼同分。耳處云何？謂耳是聲已正當能聞及彼同分。聲處云何？謂聲是耳已正當所聞及彼同分。鼻處云何？謂鼻是香已正當能嗅及彼同分。香處云何？謂香是鼻已正當所嗅及彼同分。舌處云何？謂舌是味已正當能甞及彼同分。味處云何？謂味是舌已正當所甞及彼同分。身處云何？謂身是觸已正當能觸及彼同分。觸處云何？謂觸是身已正當所觸及彼同分。意處云何？謂意是法已正當能了及彼同分。法處云何？謂法是意已正當所了。

It refers to the ear, which either currently hears sounds, will hear them, or has the capacity to hear them. The same applies to its counterpart. What is the sound faculty? It refers to sounds, which are either currently being heard by the ear, will be heard, or can be heard. The same applies to their counterpart. What is the nose faculty? It refers to the nose, which either currently smells odors, will smell them, or has the capacity to smell them. The same applies to its counterpart. What is the odor faculty? It refers to odors, which are either currently being smelled by the nose, will be smelled, or can be smelled. The same applies to their counterpart. What is the tongue faculty? It refers to the tongue, which either currently tastes flavors, will taste them, or has the capacity to taste them. The same applies to its counterpart. What is the flavor faculty? It refers to flavors, which are either currently being tasted by the tongue, will be tasted, or can be tasted. The same applies to their counterpart. What is the body faculty? It refers to the body, which either currently feels tangibles, will feel them, or has the capacity to feel them. The same applies to its counterpart. What is the tangible faculty? It refers to tangibles, which are either currently being felt by the body, will be felt, or can be felt. The same applies to their counterpart. What is the mind faculty? It refers to the mind, which either currently knows mental objects, will know them, or has the capacity to know them. The same applies to its counterpart. What is the mental-object faculty? It refers to mental objects, which are either currently being known by the mind, will be known, or can be known.

色蘊云何？謂十色處及法處所攝色。受蘊云何？謂六受身，即眼觸所生受乃至意觸所生受。想蘊云何？謂六想身，即眼觸所生想乃至意觸所生想。行蘊云何？此有二種，謂心相應行蘊、心不相應行蘊。心相應行蘊云何？謂心相應法。此復云何？謂思、觸、作意、欲、勝解、念、定、慧、信、勤、尋、伺、放逸、不放逸、善根、不善根、無記根，一切結、縛、隨眠、隨煩惱、纏，諸所有智，諸所有見，諸所有現觀。復有此餘如是類法與心相應，總名心相應行蘊。心不相應行蘊云何？謂心不相應法。此復云何？謂得、無想定、滅定、無想事、命根、眾同分、依得、事得、處得、生、老、住、無常、名身、句身、文身。復有此餘如是類法與心不相應，總名心不相應行蘊。如是二種合名行蘊。識蘊云何？謂六識身，即眼識乃至意識。色取蘊云何？謂若諸色有漏有取，於此諸色若過去若未來若現在，或欲或貪或瞋或癡，或隨一一心所隨煩惱應生時生，是名色取蘊。受想行識取蘊云何？謂若諸受想行識有漏有取，於此諸受想行識若過去若未來若現在，或欲或貪或瞋或癡，或隨一一心所隨煩惱應生時生，是名受想行識取蘊。

> What is the form aggregate? It refers to the ten sense bases and the form included in the mental-object base. What is the feeling aggregate? It refers to the six groups of feeling, namely feeling born from eye-contact up to feeling born from mind-contact. What is the perception aggregate? It refers to the six groups of perception, namely perception born from eye-contact up to perception born from mind-contact. What is the formation aggregate? There are two types: the formation aggregate that is associated with mind, and the formation aggregate that is not associated with mind. What is the formation aggregate associated with mind? It refers to mental factors that accompany the mind. What are these? They are: intention, contact, attention, desire, resolve, mindfulness, concentration, wisdom, faith, effort, seeking, examining, heedlessness, heedfulness, wholesome roots, unwholesome roots, neutral roots, all fetters, bonds, latent tendencies, secondary afflictions, and entanglements; also all kinds of knowledge, all kinds of views, and all kinds of direct realizations. There are also other phenomena of this type that accompany the mind—these collectively are called the formation aggregate associated with mind. What is the formation aggregate not associated with mind? It refers to phenomena that do not accompany the mind. What are these? They are: acquisition, the attainment of no-perception, the attainment of cessation, the state of no-perception, life faculty, similarity of beings, obtaining a basis, obtaining an object, obtaining a place, birth, aging, stability, impermanence, name-compounds, phrase-compounds, and letter-compounds. There are also other phenomena of this type that do not accompany the mind—these collectively are called the formation aggregate not associated with mind. These two together are called the formation aggregate. What is the consciousness aggregate? It refers to the six groups of consciousness, namely eye-consciousness up to mind-consciousness. What is the form clinging-aggregate? It refers to any form that is defiled and subject to clinging. As for these forms—whether past, future, or present—whenever desire, attachment, aversion, or delusion arises, or whenever any accompanying mental state or secondary affliction arises in relation to them, that is called the form clinging-aggregate. What are the feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness clinging-aggregates? It refers to any feeling, perception, formation, or consciousness that is defiled and subject to clinging. As for these feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousnesses—whether past, future, or present—whenever desire, attachment, aversion, or delusion arises, or whenever any accompanying mental state or secondary affliction arises in relation to them, that is called the feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness clinging-aggregates.

地界云何？謂堅性。水界云何？謂濕性。火界云何？謂煖性。風界云何？謂輕等動性。空界云何？謂隣阿伽色。識界云何？謂五識身及有漏意識。

受云何？謂受等受、各別等受、已受、受類，是名為受。想云何？謂想等想、增上等想、已想、想類，是名為想。思云何？謂思等思、增上等思、已思、思類，心作意業，是名為思。觸云何？謂觸等觸、觸性等觸性、已觸、觸類，是名為觸。作意云何？謂牽引心，隨順牽引、思惟牽引，作意造意，轉變心、警覺心，是名作意。欲云何？謂欲欲性增上、欲性現前，欣喜希望樂作，是名為欲。勝解云何？謂心正勝解、已勝解、當勝解性，是名勝解。念云何？謂念隨念、別念憶念、不忘不失不遺不漏不忘法性、心明記性，是名為念。定云何？謂令心住等住安住近住堅住、不亂不散攝止等持、心一境性，是名為定。慧云何？謂於法簡擇極簡擇最極簡擇、解了等了遍了近了、機黠通達審察聰叡、覺明慧行毘鉢舍那，是名為慧。
