The Ninth, the *Nirvana Sutra*, which takes Buddha-nature as its core teaching, differs from the *Avatamsaka Sutra* in ten aspects, with one similarity. The ten differences are: 1. Difference in the place of teaching; 2. Difference in the splendor of the setting; 3. Difference in the assembly of attendees; 4. Difference in the main and supporting figures of the Dharma wheel established; 5. Difference in how the attendees heard the teachings; 6. Difference in the purity or impurity of the Pure Land manifested; 7. Difference in the reality or manifestation of the Buddha's body; 8. Difference in the signs of birth, nirvana, and manifestations; 9. Difference in the manner of teaching and practice; 10. Difference in the model of companionship from the beginning.
One similarity is this: On Snow Mountain, there is grass called "Fatty Paste." If a cow eats it, it produces only pure ghee, without any colors of green, yellow, red, white, or black.
