This is what I have heard:
At one time, the Blessed One was staying in Sravasti, at the Jeta Grove in the garden of Anathapindika. Then, the wandering ascetic Vimamsaka, after his midday meal, was walking and wandering, and he approached the place of the World-Honored One. Having arrived, he addressed the World-Honored One, saying: "O Gautama, your form and appearance are supremely excellent and wonderful."
"Now, Kaccayana, what is the true nature of form?"
"Master Gotama, this refers to the finest and most exquisite form, beyond which there is nothing more excellent. That form is the most sublime, the most supreme, the finest and best of all."
"It's like this, Kātyāyana. Suppose someone says, 'I desire to have intimate relations with the most beautiful person in the world.'
Then another person asks, 'This beautiful person you speak of — is their name such, is their clan such, their appearance such? Are they tall, short, or medium height? Are they fair or dark? Are they of the noble, priestly, merchant, or laborer class? Do they come from the east, south, west, or north?'
When questioned like this, the first person cannot answer."
