第八羯磨
Eighth Karma
諸佛子既無遮難方堪受戒今正是時切須至心傾仰於師如仰完器盛水無異莫餘思想一心諦聽三番羯磨唱第一番法界善芽悉皆震動欲住汝身唱第二番此之戒法徧滿虗空雲集項上唱第三番想此戒法從汝頂門而入身心滿足非色非心不可思議汝等直須靜思靜慮諦聽諦聽。
Good disciples, now that you face no obstacles, you are truly ready to receive the precepts. The time is right. You must direct your hearts with utmost sincerity, looking up to your teacher as if holding a perfect vessel to receive pure water—without any other thoughts.
Concentrate your mind and listen carefully, as the threefold ceremony is about to begin.
> When we recite the first round: All the good seeds of truth within you will stir, ready to settle into your being.
> As we recite the second round: The essence of the precepts will fill the entire sky, gathering like a vast cloud above your head.
> When we recite the third round: Imagine that this method of the precepts enters through the crown of your head, filling your entire body and mind. It is neither material nor mental—beyond all conception.
You must now simply remain still, reflect deeply, and listen intently. Listen carefully.
佛子某甲若干人等諦聽汝今從我求受一切菩薩淨戒一切菩薩學處所謂攝律儀戒攝善法戒饒益有情戒此諸淨戒此諸學處過去一切菩薩已受已學已解已行已成未來一切菩薩當受當學當解當行當成現在一切菩薩今受今學今解今行當來作佛汝等從今身至于成佛於其中間不得犯能持否(答能持三說)。
Listen carefully, disciples. You now come to me to receive the pure precepts of all Bodhisattvas and the training rules of all Bodhisattvas. These are: the precept of moral discipline, the precept of cultivating good qualities, and the precept of benefiting sentient beings. These pure precepts and training rules — all Bodhisattvas of the past have received them, studied them, understood them, practiced them, and realized them. All Bodhisattvas of the future will receive them, study them, understand them, practice them, and realize them. All Bodhisattvas of the present are receiving them, studying them, understanding them, practicing them, and will become Buddhas in the future.
From this moment until you attain Buddhahood, during that entire time, you must not violate them. Can you uphold them?
