The scripture states: This mantra possesses great majestic virtue. The Buddha attained enlightenment through it and subdued demons through it. It can eradicate evil obstacles and accomplish the six perfections. If it is written on paper, silk, tablets, walls, banners, or pavilions, and someone briefly sees it, recites it, upholds it, hears its sound, wears it on their body, or even passes it on to touch others—then all their grave sins such as the five heinous crimes, the four grave offenses, and the ten evil deeds will be eradicated. They will be free from harm by blades, poison, water, fire, bandits, evil spirits, fevers, chills, and all kinds of suffering and illness. They will witness blessings and prosperity, and their wishes will be fulfilled. At the time of death, the Buddhas will bring them comfort, and they will be reborn in a pure land. All creatures—birds, beasts, moths, mosquitoes, gnats, and insects—that encounter its shadow or are touched by its dust will attain liberation.
