尸豉反下所流反案婆兜𥼶翅搜城即中天笁城也譯云婆兜此言住𠁅𥼶翅搜者能也謂能仁住𠁅城也經中或作𥼶氏瘦城或作舍夷城或云迦維羅衛或言迦毗羅城皆猶梵言輕重以名𥼶迦音訛故也。自襞

> The city of Shichisou is in fact the city of Central India. The Sanskrit word "Bodou" means "dwelling place." "Shichisou" means "capable," so the name means "the city where the capable and benevolent one dwells." In the scriptures, it is sometimes written as "the city of the Shakyas," sometimes as "the city of Sheyi," sometimes as "Kapilavastu," or sometimes as "Kapila City." These are all variations in the Chinese transcription of the Sanskrit, with differences in emphasis—the sounds are slightly off because the name "Shakya" was transcribed inaccurately.
