### 第十八卷椷簏

> Volume 18: Chests and Boxes

古咸反說文椷篋也字書木篋也經文從絲作緘非體也下又作篆同力木反竹器也。

> In ancient texts, \*fan\* (反) is used for phonetic notation. According to the \*Shuowen Jiezi\*, \*xian\* (椷) means "box" or "case." In character dictionaries, it is defined as a "wooden box." When used in scriptures, the character is sometimes written with the silk radical (缄), but that is not the correct form. Below, it is also written in seal script (篆) with the same pronunciation \*li mu\* (力木反), meaning a "bamboo vessel."
