### 寄支提禪師

> A Message to Master Zhiti

遠聽天冠化寺鐘。孤煙明滅暮山重。念携掛壁木上座。問訊長沙岑大虫。大虫聲威動海宇。老不與世同其波。卷藏風月付一室。落日春山狐兔多。威而不怒默常吼。寂子觸之遭毒手。東山又似不知時。更來許露其家醜。

> From afar, I hear the bell of Tian Guan Hua Temple. A lone wisp of smoke flickers through layered dusk mountains. I think of the wooden seat hanging on the wall— Asking after Changsha Cen, the Great Tiger. The tiger's roar shakes the sea and sky, But he, old and unsullied, swims not with the world's tide. He rolls up wind and moon, sealing them in one chamber— Sunset over spring hills, where foxes and hares run wild. Mighty yet unangered, silent yet ever roaring, The quiet one who touches him meets a lethal hand. Dong Shan, too, seems unaware of the times— Coming further, he exposes his family's flaws.
