### 五者觸報

> Five: Retribution of Contact

招引惡果。觸業熟時。是人將終。先見大山四面來合。無復出路。亡者神識。見大鐵城。火蛇火狗。獅象虎狼。牛頭馬面。手執䥫矟。驅入城門。向無間中。發明二相。一是合觸。合山逼體。骨肉血潰。二者離觸。刀劍鋸身。心肝屠裂。如是合觸。則能為道為觀。為廳為案。歷見。則能為燒為然。歷聽。則能為擊為撞。為刺為射。歷息。則能為括為袋為拷為縛。歷嘗。則能為耕為鉗。為斬為絕。歷思。則能為墜為飛。為煎為炙。觸業招報。交受如是。我與眾等。自無始來。或貪華綺綿繡繪縠。獸毛蠶口毳氎皮靴吳綾蜀錦。椒繭狐裘。七珍麗服。細滑紬裳。觸境迷心。起非法想。如是罪惡。無量無邊。故於今辰。恭對三寶。一一披陳。求哀懺悔。從今已去。披忍辱鎧。踞法空座。入慈悲室。普化有情。同登覺岸。

> \*\*Causing Negative Results.\*\* When the ripening karma of touch manifests, the person nearing death will first see immense mountains converging from all sides, with no path of escape. The deceased's consciousness observes a great iron city, with fire snakes, fire dogs, lions, elephants, tigers, wolves, ox-headed beings, and horse-faced beings, all holding iron spears, driving them through the city gates and into the Uninterrupted Hell. There, two aspects emerge: \*\*The First is Contact:\*\* Mountains press in, crushing the body, shattering bones, flesh, and blood. \*\*The Second is Separation:\*\* Swords and blades slice the body; the heart and liver are cut and torn apart. Such Contact can become roads, sights, halls, or judgment seats. When seen, it manifests as burning and scorching. When heard, it becomes striking, crashing, stabbing, and shooting. When breathed, it becomes squeezing, bag confinement, torture, and binding. When tasted, it becomes plowing, clamping, beheading, and severance. When thought of, it becomes falling, flying, boiling, and roasting. The retribution for the karma of touch is experienced in this interconnected way. Since time immemorial, we beings have been attached to luxurious, ornate, and embroidered fabrics—silk, satin, brocade, fur, down, wool, leather boots, fine silks from Wu and Shu, pepper-silk, fur from fox, and precious garments of seven treasures; smooth, delicate robes of silk and cotton. Entangled by sensory experiences, we have become lost and conceived unwholesome thoughts. Such sins are countless and boundless. Therefore, at this very moment, I reverently face the Three Jewels and confess each one, sincerely seeking mercy and repentance. From now on, I will don the armor of patience, sit on the throne of emptiness, enter the chamber of compassion, and universally transform all beings, so that together we may ascend to the shore of enlightenment.
