### 各為過去父母禮佛第四

> Chapter 4: Paying Respect to Past Parents

今日道場同業大眾。其中若有父母少便孤背難復再遇。萬劫悠然既未得天眼。死生智明不知父母捨報神識更生何道。唯當競設福力功德追而報恩。為善不止功成必致。經言。為亡人作福如餉遠人。若生人天增益功德。若處三途。或在八難速令解脫。生若值佛受正法教永離眾苦憂畏悉除七世久遠歷劫親緣十方眾生同得解脫。是為智者至慈至孝最上報恩。相與今日若有過去者應當悲泣追懷懊惱嗚呼哽慟奉為過去父母歷劫親緣五體投地。歸依世間大慈悲父。

> Today, all of you gathered here in this practice hall, if any among you lost your parents early in life and can never meet them again—though countless eons have passed, without the divine eye or the wisdom to see births and deaths, you do not know where your parents' consciousness has been reborn after they passed away. The only thing to do is to compete in making offerings and cultivating merit and virtue to repay their kindness. If you do good without ceasing, the results will surely come. The scriptures say: making merit for the deceased is like sending provisions to someone far away. If they are reborn among humans or gods, their merit increases. If they are in the three lower realms or the eight difficulties, they will be quickly released from suffering. If they are reborn in the presence of a Buddha, they will receive the true Dharma teachings, forever free from all suffering and fear. Seven generations of distant relatives, all beings in the ten directions, may they all attain liberation together. This is what the wise do—the highest compassion, the deepest filial piety, the ultimate repayment of kindness. Now, if any of you have lost loved ones, you should grieve with tears, recall them with remorse, and cry out in sorrow. Let us prostrate ourselves with five limbs touching the ground on behalf of our past parents and relatives across many lifetimes, taking refuge in the world's great compassionate father.

> Namo Boundless Body Bodhisattva, Namo Guanyin Bodhisattva.

又復歸依如是十方。盡虛空界一切三寶。

願以慈悲力救護拯接。願大眾各有過去父母歷劫眷屬。從今日去至于道場。一切罪緣皆得消殄。一切苦果永得除滅。煩惱結業畢竟清淨。斷三障緣無五怖畏。行菩薩道廣化一切。八解洗心四弘被物。面奉慈顏諮承妙旨。不起本處盡諸有漏。隨念逍遙遍諸佛土。行願早登速成正覺。
