We vow that all sentient beings throughout the ten directions, filling the realm of empty space, of the four births and six destinies, to the very end of the future—from this day forward until attaining enlightenment—will no longer mistakenly wander, suffering in physical forms and enduring all kinds of torment. May they never again commit the ten evils and five heinous acts, and thus fall back into the three wretched paths. By the merits and conditions of this worship of the Buddha today, may each attain the pure karma of body and speech of the great bodhisattvas. May each attain all the minds of the great bodhisattvas: The mind like the great earth, which gives rise to all wholesome roots. The mind like the great ocean, which receives and upholds the great Dharma of all the Buddhas' wisdom. The mind like Mount Sumeru, which enables all to abide securely in unsurpassed enlightenment. The mind like the wish-fulfilling jewel, which is far removed from afflictions. The mind like a vajra (diamond), which decisively establishes all dharmas. The mind of firm resolve, which cannot be destroyed or hindered by demons or heretics. The mind like a lotus flower, which remains unstained by any worldly dharmas. The mind like the pure sun, which dispels all ignorance and dark obstructions. The mind like empty space, which no sentient being can measure. Furthermore, we vow that all sentient beings of the four births and six destinies, from this day forward, will contemplate the nature of consciousness and the nature of decisive faith and understanding. May they abandon frivolity and idle talk, constantly contemplate the Dharma's words, give away all they have without a mind of stinginess or attachment, and with each thought be courageous and brave, harboring no timidity or weakness. May all the merit they cultivate be dedicated to all beings, without turning back to wrong paths. May they concentrate single-mindedly, see goodness as an illusion and evil as a dream, abandon and leave behind birth and death, swiftly exit the three realms, clearly observe the profound and wonderful Dharma, and each attain the ability to make offerings to all Buddhas, with all offering implements fully satisfied. May each attain the ability to make offerings to all noble Dharmas, with all offering implements fully satisfied. May each attain the ability to make offerings to all bodhisattvas, with all offering implements fully satisfied.
