The Recorded Sayings of Chan Master Wuchu Daguan was compiled and edited by his disciples, including Depu, during the Southern Song Dynasty. This text collects Master Daguan's Dharma talks, informal instructions, verses, letters, and other writings, reflecting his sharp, vigorous Chan style and his direct, mind-pointing teaching method. As an important Chan discourse from the Song Dynasty, it is not only a key text for studying Master Daguan's thought and the Yangqi lineage of Chan, but also a valuable historical source for understanding the development of Chan Buddhism in the Southern Song. It holds a significant place in the history of Buddhist thought and the literature of recorded sayings.
