> Rain Prayer

傷嗟龜兆折田疇。火日燒空水絕流。旱魃為災何大酷。商羊罷舞實堪憂。人心懇切難伸訢。我佛慈悲應禱求。願霈甘霖蘇萬物。勃興苗稼富秋収。

> Alas! The tortoise-shell divination cracks, the fields lie waste, Fire and sun scorch the sky, the waters cease to flow. The drought demon brings disaster—how cruel and vast! The rain-bringing bird ceases its dance, truly a cause for worry. Human hearts plead earnestly, yet find no relief; Our Buddha, in compassion, answers every prayer. We pray for sweet rain to revive all living things, That crops may flourish and grant a bounteous harvest in autumn.
