### 薦母并妻室首七

> Offering to Mother and Wife on the Seventh Day

雲慘萱堂莫遂承顏之志。風悲蘭室遽傷結髮之情。然老少雖曰殊塗。而生滅同歸一路。敬念亡妣某氏享世壽七十五載。亡室某氏受天數三十二春。未離兩日之間。同有千秋之別。大千不返。首七俱臨。追修二位之懿魂。須仗三乘之聖教。

> The clouds darken the mother's hall—no longer can I fulfill my duty to care for her. The wind grieves in the orchid chamber—suddenly I am struck by the loss of my devoted wife. Though old and young travel different paths, birth and death ultimately lead to the same destination. With reverence, I recall my departed mother, who lived to the age of seventy-five, and my late wife, whose allotted years numbered thirty-two. Within two days of each other, both have departed forever. The great void does not return them; their seventh-day observances arrive together. To honor the virtuous spirits of these two beloved souls, I rely upon the sacred teachings of the Three Vehicles.
