> Summer

生也不道。死也不道。生死兩頭俱領過。即今撥轉上頭關。諸人且道是甚麼。是甚麼。為說破。木人昨夜問三臺。拍手起來唱哩嘮。亡某人醒則个灰飛煙滅事如何。雲峰奇聳千萬朵。

> Birth—not spoken of. Death—not spoken of. Both ends of birth and death have been passed through. Now, turn around the gate above. All of you, tell me—what is it? What is it? To explain it plainly: the wooden man last night asked the Three Terraces. Clapping hands, he rose and sang "li lao." The deceased <note>so-and-so</note>, awaken now. What of matters vanishing like smoke and ashes? Cloud peaks rise wondrously, ten thousand blossoms tall.
