The Guanhe Collection Excerpts is a Buddhist anthology compiled by the Qing Dynasty lay practitioner Peng Shaosheng, edited and excerpted by his disciples. Living during the Qianlong era, Peng Shaosheng harmonized Confucian and Buddhist teachings, dedicating himself to propagating the Pure Land Dharma gate. This work compiles his letters, prefaces, postscripts, and discourses, focusing on elucidating Pure Land faith, essential practices, and perspectives on life and death, advocating mindfulness of the Buddha for rebirth in the Western Pure Land. As one of the representative works of lay Buddhism in the Qing Dynasty, it reflects the intellectual trend of integrating Buddhism with Confucianism at the time. It exerted significant influence on the later development of the Pure Land school and remains an important text for studying Qing Dynasty Buddhist thought and lay practice.
