佛者，即本師釋迦牟尼也。此土釋迦牟尼佛說彼土阿彌陀佛依正莊嚴信願往生之經也。此經本名稱讚不可思議功德一切諸佛所護念經，今名什師改定。

> The Buddha refers to our original teacher, Shakyamuni. In this land, Shakyamuni Buddha expounded the sutra that describes the majestic adornments of the Pure Land and Amitabha Buddha, inspiring faith, aspiration, and rebirth in that realm. The original title of this sutra is "The Sutra of Praising the Inconceivable Merit and Being Protected and Remembered by All Buddhas." The current title was revised by Master Kumarajiva.
