> II. Four Buddhist Canons

前三藏外。加一陀羅尼藏。偈下諸呪。陀羅尼也。經律。顯教攝。呪。則密教攝也。

> Beyond the Three Baskets of scriptures, there is added a Basket of Dharanis. The verses and chants that follow—these are the Dharanis (mystic incantations). Sutras (scriptures) and Vinaya (monastic rules) belong to the Exoteric school of teachings. The chants (mantras) belong to the Esoteric school of teachings.
