### ○釋迦文佛頌并引

> Praise of Shakyamuni Buddha<note>with introduction</note>

端明殿學士兼翰林侍讀蘇軾。為亡妻同安郡君王氏閔之請奏議郎李公麟敬畵釋迦文佛及十大弟子。元祐八年十一月十一日。設水陸道塲供養。軾拜手稽首而作頌曰。

> Su Shi, Scholar of the Duanyang Hall and Hanlin Reader-in-Waiting, commissioned Li Gonglin, Gentleman for Consultation, to respectfully paint an image of Shakyamuni Buddha and the Ten Great Disciples, in memory of his deceased wife, Lady Wang Min, of the Tong'an Commandery. On the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the eighth year of Yuanyou, a water-and-land assembly was held as an offering. Su Shi, with folded hands and bowed head, composed this hymn:

我願。世尊足指按地。三千大千淨瑠璃色。其中眾生靡不解脫。如日出時。眠者皆作如雷霆時。蟄者皆動。同證無上。永不退轉。

> I vow. When the World-Honored One presses the earth with his toes, the vast universe turns the color of pure lapis lazuli, and every living being within is liberated. Like the sun rising, the sleeping awaken; like thunder rolling, the dormant stir. Together they attain the supreme enlightenment, never to regress.
