> Clear Retreat Hall Inscription

已去清隱。而老崇慶。清隱亦非。何者為正。清者其行。隱者其言。非彼非此。亦非中間。在清隱時。念念不住。今者何人。補清隱處。八萬四千。刧火洞然。但隨他去。何處不然。

> Having left Qingyin behind, we now revere old Chongqing. Yet Qingyin is not the ultimate truth either—so which is correct? "Qing" refers to one's conduct, "Yin" to one's words. Neither that nor this, nor anything in between. In the time of Qingyin, thoughts arose and passed without pause. Who is it now, filling Qingyin's place? Eighty-four thousand kalpas, the fire of cosmic destruction blazes everywhere—just let it go, and where does it not apply?
