Continuation of the "Accounts of Eminent Monks of West Lake in Wulin" from the Song Dynasty, compiled by the Ming Dynasty eminent monk Master Lianchi, Zhuhong. This work serves as a continuation of the Northern Song text "Accounts of Eminent Monks of West Lake in Wulin" and belongs to the category of Buddhist historical and biographical literature. It primarily records the life stories and Dharma propagation journeys of eminent monks and great virtuous beings around West Lake in Hangzhou from the late Song to the Ming Dynasty, reflecting the transmission and development of Buddhism in this region. As an important resource for studying the history of Buddhism in the Jiangnan area, it carries forward the tradition of Buddhist biographies, holding a connecting role between past and future, and provides invaluable records for later generations to understand the Buddhist figures and the style of various schools in Hangzhou prior to the mid-Ming period.
