### 護聖青山和尚

白璧無瑕。明珠絕纇。坐斷諸方舌頭。提持向上巴鼻。編蒲養母。凜陳尊宿之高風。茅舍深居。續常禪師之遠志。閱世等行雲無心。嗜閒如啖蔗有味。須彌為筆。不足以美盛德之形容。江河為口。庶幾乎發斯文之源委。

> A flawless white jade. A pearl without equal. Silencing all worldly arguments, upholding the highest truth. Weaving mats to support his mother, embodying the noble spirit of Elder Su. Living deep in a thatched hut, carrying forward the far-reaching aspiration of Zen Master Chang. Passing through life like drifting clouds without attachment, savoring leisure as sweet as sugarcane. Even if Mount Sumeru were a brush, it could not fully depict such virtue. Rivers and oceans as mouths—maybe then could the depths of this teaching be expressed.
