Twelve Homages<note>Separately translated by the Tripitaka Master Dhyānagupta, the Praise and Homage to Amitab
至心歸命禮西方阿彌陀佛！
With utmost sincerity, I take refuge in and bow to Amitabha Buddha of the Western Pure Land!
稽首天人所恭敬， 阿彌陀仙兩足尊，
在彼微妙安樂國， 無量佛子眾圍繞。
I bow to the One revered by gods and humans, Amitabha, the Awakened One supreme, Who dwells in that sublime land of peace, Surrounded by countless beings of light.
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
May all beings together be reborn in the Land of Peace and Bliss.
金色身淨如山王， 奢摩佗行如象步，
兩目淨若青蓮華， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
His golden body is pure, majestic as a mountain king. In stillness he walks with grace, like an elephant's steady stride. His eyes are clear as the blue lotus flower — Thus I bow my head to Amitabha Buddha.
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
May all beings together be reborn in the Land of Peace and Bliss.
面善圓淨如滿月， 威光猶如千日月，
聲如天鼓俱翅羅， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
His countenance is perfectly round and pure, resembling the full moon, His majestic light shines like a thousand suns and moons, His voice, like a heavenly drum and the kalavinka bird's call, Therefore, I bow my head to Amitabha Buddha.
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
May all beings together be reborn in the Land of Peace and Bliss.
觀音頂戴冠中住， 種種妙相寶莊嚴，
能伏外道魔憍慢， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
無比無垢廣清淨， 眾德皎潔如虗空，
所作利益得自在， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
十方名聞菩薩眾， 無量諸魔常讚歎，
為諸眾生願力住， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
金底寶間池生華， 善根所成妙高座，
於彼座上如山王， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
十方所來諸佛子， 顯現神通至安樂，
瞻仰尊顏常恭敬， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
諸有無常無我等， 亦如水月電影露，
為眾說法無名字， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
彼尊無量方便境， 無有諸趣惡知識，
往生不退至菩提， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
彼尊佛剎無惡名， 亦無女人惡道怖，
眾人至心敬彼尊， 故我頂禮彌陀佛。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
我說彼尊功德事， 眾善無邊如海水，
所獲善根清淨者， 迴施眾生生彼國。
願共諸眾生往生安樂國。
校異
(此十二禮文，出在迦才《淨土論》，今刻依之。又往生禮讚中夜偈亦用此文，但每偈首有「南無至心歸命禮西方阿彌陀佛」十三字，又每偈「彌陀佛」竝作「彌陀尊」（《集諸經禮懺儀》第三及《往生要集》上所引亦作「彌陀佛」）又第七偈「妙高座」作「妙臺座」，又第十、第十一兩偈前後易位，此為異耳)。
