> The Three Gates of Huanglong

佛手驢脚生緣。虗實兩般並拈。不教徐六擔板。各自看做一邊。昨日前村下雨。今朝火內生蓮。石女呵呵大笑。說破值甚低錢。

> Buddha’s hand, donkey’s feet, conditions arise; Both emptiness and substance are held up before your eyes. Don’t let Xu Liu carry just one plank, Each sees a fragment from their separate rank. Yesterday rain fell in the village ahead, Today from fire a lotus blooms instead. The stone woman laughs out loud, ha-ha, with glee; Once it’s explained, what is such a truth worth? — Three pennies.
