### 雪夜為達觀大師茶毗

> Cremation Ceremony for Master Daguan on a Snowy Night

達大師。達大師。生前好惡相半。滅後是非兩忘。天人已失依怙。四眾永沒舟航。大地一時變白。松濤徹夜顛狂。吹散許多障礙。竪起無上法幢。大師來也。在什麼處。却在山僧筆尖頭上放光。那知音的搥胸呌屈。那不知音的徒自悲傷。偈曰。石火光中著脚。電光影裏翻身。當場燒却皮袋。踏碎毗盧頂𩕳。露出本來面目。千聖莫有知名。只解自問自諾。休言無臭無聲。

> Master Da, Master Da. In life, good and evil were evenly mixed; after death, right and wrong are both forgotten. Heavenly beings have lost their refuge; the fourfold assembly has no boat to cross. The great earth suddenly turns white; the pine winds rage all through the night. They blow away many obstacles and raise up the unsurpassed Dharma banner. The Master has arrived. Where is he? Right now, on the tip of this mountain monk's brush, he radiates light. Those who know him beat their chests and cry out in lament; those who do not know him grieve in vain. A verse says: Place your foot in the light of a flint-stone spark; Turn your body in the flash of lightning. Right on the spot, burn off the bag of skin; Trample the crown of Vairochana. Reveal your original face— The thousand sages cannot know its name. Only you can ask yourself and answer yourself; Don’t say there is no scent or sound.
