> Furthermore,

> To see the land of crystal light, Gaze deep into your mind, so fine and bright. The wind's soft song is music, pure and clear, While drifting clouds part heavenly robes here. Birds sing the virtues of the One Awake; Flowers bloom the Bodhisattva's way they take. Lift your eyes—the crimson sun is near. Know this: the Western Land is right here.

> Where worldly thoughts like ice dissolve, The mind's true pearl emits its light. All past and present truths resolve; The Dharma King is seen aright. A thing that's not a thing at all, The impermanent is the constant call. If Amitābha you would see, Just speak — and two shall one be.

> The Western Land is good. There is no worry there. Food and clothing appear naturally, And jewels pave the streets. All are equal — no rich or poor, And there is eternal life — no young or old. Amitabha sent me a letter, Urging me to return home soon.

又

> Furthermore,

> Great is the Western Pure Land! With lotuses pond-side, adorned with agate, Where parrots proclaim the Buddha's Dharma, And rows of trees gleam with seven treasures. Mahasthamaprapta often furrows his brow, While Avalokiteshvara feels a pang of sorrow. Why do sentient beings refuse to go there? How deeply they are lost in self-delusion!

又

> Furthermore,

> The Western Land is good. Every step is on jeweled grass. Reciting the Buddha, the Dharma, And the Sangha are all celestial birds. At all six periods of the day I hear their sounds, And walking the path with palms pressed together, They urge me: "Go there quickly— To avoid the King of Hell's torture."

又

> Furthermore,

> The West is wonderful. Things come naturally. When the body feels cold, heavenly garments fall from the sky. When the stomach is hungry, divine dates appear. The bathing pools are made of pure jewels. Lotus nets and rows of trees surround them. Take off these robes of affliction. Put on that coat of no-birth.

> Furthermore,

> Of all good deeds, reciting the Buddha's name is best. Those who chant the Buddha's name have few worldly cares. Whether busy or idle, they never waste their practice, And in the end escape King Yama's interrogation. Chant while walking, chant while standing still; In walking and standing, find the skillful means. Every Dharma, every phenomenon, is inherently present, So why inquire further about your original face? Chant while sitting, chant while lying down, Uniting scattered thoughts and drowsy darkness into one whole. The perfect, pure jewel illuminates the great universe, Treading everywhere in this world and beyond. I sigh for people who rarely reflect, Their thoughts forever chasing after worldly realms. Hoarding wealth, enslaved to wife and children, Toiling endlessly without a single moment of stillness. I sigh for beings entangled in the five desires, Body and mind laboring day and night. In the end, all endeavors turn to emptiness. Who is able to reach the Land of Bliss? The Land of Bliss is not far away— One can instantly transcend in this very moment. Falling flowers and flowing rivers reveal empty form; Sentient beings deludedly think it's separated by clouds. The seven-jeweled trees are inlaid with gems; The ground is of lapis lazuli, pavilions of gold. Scented breezes touch the body, mild and warm; After meals, heavenly music fills the air. I compare the Pure Land to the Saha world. The Saha world has eight sufferings. If people doubt, let them hear my words; I shall list them one by one. First: birth. Second: aging. Third: many illnesses. Fourth: parting from what we love is not long-lived. Fifth: meeting with what we hate—how to escape? Sixth: not getting what we desire. Seventh: the five aggregates raging. These eight sufferings span past and present. To be free, one must awaken to no-birth. Otherwise, even dwelling in the highest heavens, How could one escape birth-and-death's assault? I compare the Saha world to the Pure Land; When matched, the Saha world truly cannot compare. In this world, all things are impermanent; In that land, every Dharma is perfect enlightenment. The nine-grade lotus, the golden platform, Amitabha made vows from countless kalpas past. If any being calls my name, In one recitation, a sacred embryo grows in the lotus. Be born in the Pure Land—no other place. Do not concern yourself with Amitabha's busy or idle. When practice matures, the mind's flower blooms; The mountains, rivers, and great earth all radiate light. Reciting the Buddha's name is good— Do it early. Don't waste away the light. A moment's thought—look at past and present. How many heroes lie buried beneath green grass? Have you not seen layman Wang Longshu? He chanted Amitabha for others all his life. At death, he stood upright in transformation, manifesting signs, Producing a spiritual pearl at the tip of his brush. Have you not seen Lady Jing, Who along with her maids chanted the true sutra? Though she never left the Saha world body, Her name was inscribed in the highest-grade lotus.
